Screen Printing Process

Screen printing is a versatile printing process that you can use to customize a wide variety of substrates, including fabrics, paper, paperboard, plastics, glass, and metals. This embellishment consists of three elements: the screen, which carries the image; a squeegee; and ink. The process uses a porous mesh screen stretched tightly over a frame. A stencil is produced on the screen, defining the image to be printed. The ink is applied to the substrate through the screen using the squeegee; applied pressure forces the ink through the open areas of the stencil.

Here at Carolina Custom Threads, screen printing is most commonly associated with sports jerseys, apparel, lanyards, bags, and other merchandise forms.
